Virgin, Wikipedia, Verizon and others come together to talk about the future of technology on business

richard bransonTechnology of Tomorrow 2008 (TOT2008) gives a groundbreaking perspective into how industry innovation and technological insight are redefining the face of business.
TOT2008 will give an opportunity for people to hear from a select few of the world's finest business and technology leaders that have influenced on how we consume and apply technology in our lives.

Speakers include Sir Richard Branson, Chairman of the Virgin Group; Jimmy Wales, founder and Chair Emeritus of Wikipedia and Carly Fiorina, former Chairman and CEO of HP and many others.
The conference, held on Tuesday 30th September 2008 in the Royal Albert Hall, examines how new and emerging technology has a significant impact on the way industry does business and this event was initiated on the belief that the global technology market required an original kind of strategic conference, delivered by inspirational leaders, that envisages the concept that technology can be accessed by anybody, and have profound implications for the way we do business.
Martin Warner, executive producer of TOT2008 states the conference doesn't solely focus on the impact of technology in the workplace and in our personal lives, but explores other facets such as the new paradigm of leadership that is being formed as a result of this change.

"New technology availability, particularly on the web, is forcing new methods of innovation and indeed a new culture of leadership.

"The existing leadership books don't apply, and in fact, great leaders have proven to be unconventional in their approach to leading in business," Warner said.
"Disruptive Technology or emerging technology has been pivotal to the changes we see across industry. For example, the rise of the ‘niche market' as a result of the Internet has changed the way industry does business, which is a central theme at TOT2008."
"Sales, distribution and marketing of many businesses across a number of industries are dramatically changing as a result of the Internet. Shop stores have limited space and can therefore only show a certain set of top level offerings which doesn't exist with the Internet.

"Industries such as Entertainment, Communications, Retail, Telecoms and many more are transforming in order to take advantage of this shifting, more open landscape," he said.
Technology of Tomorrow 08 is set to become the UK's most prestigious business conference and will be a regular fixture on the high-level business calendar events list
